Sumit becomes first Indian to win a match in grand slam singles in 7 years

At the US open, Sumit Nagal became the first Indian player to win a singles match at the Grand Slam when beat the American Bradly Klahn in the first round. He went on to lose to in second round against second seed Dominic Thiem who has now gone on to reach the final. Still, a great step forward for Sumit in his career graph. Rohan Bopanna with his partner Dennis Shapovalov progressed to the QF with a good upset win over the the sixth seeds.

At Generali Open ATP 250, Kitzbuhel, Austria

At the ATP tour event in Kitzbuhel, Austria, Prajnesh Gunneswaran played his first match since return after covid lockdown and lost in second qualifying round.

Clay court expert Huesler went on to reach SF beating 12th ranked Fabio Fognini and 57th ranked Feliciano Lopez on the way.
