Indian No.1 Ankita Raina continued her brilliant form in doubles to move into the quarters with her partner Bibiane Schoofs.
The Indian, who is enjoying a great run with 2 finals in the last month, scored a comfortable straight sets win over Susan Bandecchi / Sarah-Rebecca Sekulic with a score of 64 76.
On the other hand, in the singles first round, Ankita was pitted against the formidable Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia, who holds a 2-0 head-to-head record against Ankita. The last time they faced each other was in the ITF Turkey finals where Ankita lost the match 46 06.
This time, Ankita ran toe-to-toe with her opponent in the first set and Ankita had her chances before Vitalia raised her level in the tie-breaker to win it 7-1.
The second set was an easier affair for Vitalia as she raced forward with the momentum to complete a 76(1) 61 win.
