New Delhi, August 11, 2026: The All India Tennis Association (AITA), under its ACE 2032 vision, has unveiled a comprehensive programme to strengthen coach education, promote women’s leadership in coaching and build a stronger development pathway for India’s junior tennis players.
“The initiatives, proposed by the AITA Coaching & Education Committee, comprising leading Indian coaches under the chairmanship of Mr. Sunil Yajaman, form a key pillar of ACE 2032, AITA’s long-term strategy to develop a world-class coaching and high-performance ecosystem”, said Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary General, AITA.
A landmark initiative will be India’s first ITF Coach High Performance (CHP) Course, scheduled for December 2026 with the support of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the ACTC programme. AITA is currently in discussions with the ITF Development Office to finalise the course.
Ahead of the CHP Course, AITA will conduct a refresher workshop in October 2026 to assess and prepare prospective candidates.
To strengthen women’s participation in coaching, AITA will organise its first All Women Coaches Course in Delhi in November 2026. A biennial National Coaches Workshop, beginning in February 2027, will further promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing among coaches.
The Committee has also proposed a structured annual coach education calendar comprising 16 Play Tennis + AITA Level 1 Fitness Courses (four per zone), 8 AITA Intermediate Courses (two per zone), 4 AITA Advanced Players Courses (one per zone); and one ITF Coach High Performance Course every two years.
As part of ACE 2032’s player development programme, AITA has approved the deployment of two travelling coaches – one male and one female – to attend National Championships and selected ITF J200 and J300 tournaments in India and Asia for player observation, evaluation and feedback.
AITA has also approved 10-day national training camps for quarterfinalists in the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 categories immediately after the National Championships. Supported by sports science experts, the camps will focus on technical, tactical, physical and mental development.
Promising juniors will continue to receive structured support at ITF J200 and J300 tournaments in India and Asia, with travelling coaches providing on-site guidance and performance feedback.

These initiatives form an integral part of ACE 2032, AITA’s long-term roadmap to develop internationally competitive players through excellence in coaching, athlete development and high-performance systems.
