Arnav Paparkar shocks World No. 3, marches into Wimbledon Juniors Round 3

Arnav Paparkar

India No. 1 Arnav Paparkar delivered the standout result of his young career on Tuesday, defeating World No. 3 Keaton Hance of the USA 6-2 6-3 to reach the Round of 16 at Wimbledon Juniors 2026.

A Statement Performance

Ranked 19 in the world, Paparkar was up against the American teenager who arrived in London as the tournament’s third seed. But the ranking gap did little to affect Arnav, who controlled proceedings from the opening game and never let Hance settle into any rhythm.

Paparkar broke serve twice in the first set to close it out 6-2, then carried that momentum into the second, sealing victory 6-3 in just over an hour on court.

Best Run at Wimbledon Continues

This marks Paparkar’s deepest run yet at this Grand Slam junior event. For a player who has spent the season steadily climbing the junior rankings, a win of this magnitude against a top-3 opponent adds real weight to his campaign.

What’s Next

Paparkar will next face the winner of Nicolas Baena (JR 14) vs Ryo Tabata (JR 30), with a quarter-final berth on the line.
