Mumbai, March 19, 2026: Mukund Sasikumar and Sidharth Rawat advanced to the singles quarterfinals of the MSLTA $25,000 ITF Men’s Tennis Tournament, organized by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) at the Dr. G.A. Ranade Tennis Centre.
Seventh seed Mukund Sasikumar showcased grit and composure, bouncing back from a set down to edge past the Netherlands’ Stijn Pel in a marathon three-setter, winning 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-2.
Sidharth Rawat overcame Dev Javia 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in an all-Indian contest.
Top seed Florent Bax of France cruised into the next round with a commanding 6-2, 6-3 win over India’s Manish Sureshkumar.
Fourth seed Alexandr Binda of Italy survived a tight opening set before subduing Ishaque Eqbal 7-6(11), 6-2.
Local wildcard and World No. 43 junior Arnav Paparkar gave a strong account of himself before going down to fifth seed Philip Sekulic of Australia. Paparkar won the opening set, but Sekulic used his experience to register a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory.
The biggest upset of the day saw Timofei Derepasko recover after losing the opening set to knock out third seed Karan Singh in emphatic fashion, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Sweden’s Leo Borg and second seed Luca Castelnuovo of Switzerland progressed with straight-set wins to enter the last eight.
In the doubles quarterfinals, top seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Ramkumar Ramanathan advanced with a solid straight-sets victory.
Local wildcards Anup Bangargi and Nirav Shetty held their nerve in a nail-biting super tie-break to enter the semifinals, defeating Aditya Balsekar and Vishnu Vardhan 6-3, 4-6, 13-11.
