Vaidehee Chaudhari’s impressive run at the ITF $30,000 HCi Burnie Tennis International came to an end in the final, where she fell to top seed and home favourite Lizette Cabrera of Australia (WTA 275) 2-6, 3-6. It was a tough ask against the highest-ranked player in the draw who was playing on home soil, but Vaidehee’s journey to the final was one to be proud of.

The fourth seed who hailed from Khandosan in Gujarat, had to dig deep on multiple occasions to get there. In the quarterfinals, she edged past Chengyiyi Yuan of China in a three-setter, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. The semifinal brought more of the same — dropping the first set before regrouping to win 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 against seventh seed Mio Mushika of Japan (WTA 533). Reaching a final through back-to-back three-set battles speaks to her fitness and mental resolve.
The runner-up finish adds to a career that has been building consistently. Chaudhari has won one ITF title every year since 2022 — W15 Gwalior, W15 Gurugram, W35 Taipei, and W35 Solapur — a streak she will be looking to extend this year. This also marks her second singles final of 2026 in as many months.
