Tenth seeds Yuki Bhambri and André Göransson bowed out of the Australian Open in the third round, falling 6–7(7), 3–6 to unseeded Brazilians Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos. The defeat mirrored their recent loss to the same duo at the ATP 250 Brisbane two weeks earlier.
Double faults proved decisive for Bhambri and Göransson, who committed eight in the match, while Luz and Matos did not serve a single one. Despite showing resilience in the opening-set tiebreak—saving three set points from 3–6 and even earning one at 7–6—the Indo-Swedish pair dropped the next three points to lose the set.
Momentum slipped away in the second set after a crucial turning point. Leading by a break and serving at 3–2, 40–15, Göransson hit two double faults, allowing the Brazilians to break back. Luz and Matos seized control from there, closing out the match in straight sets to advance, while Bhambri and Göransson were left to rue missed opportunities and costly errors.
