Chennai, January 8th 2026: The next edition of the Adityan ITF M25 International Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be held at the well maintained SDAT Tennis stadium Nungambakkam Chennai from the 12th to 18th of January 2026. This is now an annual feature in the Tamil Nadu Tennis calendar. Top players in the country are looking forward to participating in it. The total prize money is $30,000 and the points offered will be 25 ATP points for the Winners and 16 ATP points for the Runner Up.
About the Tournament:
Vijay Amritraj while welcoming the conduct of a M25 Men’s Futures event said, ” I appreciate the spontaneous gesture of Kannan Adityan to annually come forward to sponsor this M25 futures which has a special connotation for aspiring Indian Tennis Players who can now experience international competition on home ground and improve their world rankings.”
Players from 14 countries – Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Japan, Finland, Tunisia, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, France, Kazakhstan, Romania, Uzbekistan and India are participating in the event. The Chennai public will be treated to some excellent tennis during the Pongal holiday week. As per the acceptance list Max Houkes from Netherlands ranked 247 will lead the foreign challenge in the main draw of 32 and Ilia samakin of Russia will be the second seed. The Indian challenge will be led by Karan Singh will be the seeded 5, others Indian in the draw will be former National champion Manish Suresh Kumar, Manas Dhamne, Prajwal Dev and Sidharth Rawat. The 4 Wild cards for the main draw are Manish Suresh Kumar, Keerthivasan Suresh, Kabir Hans and Hitesh Chauhan.
Dharaka Ellawala from Sri Lanka will be the ITF Referee for the tournament.
The entry to witness the event will be free. The daily timing of play will be from 9 AM to 6PM.The Doubles Finals are to be played on 17th Saturday at 4PM.The Singles Finals on 18th Sunday 3 PM onwards.
About B R Adityan
Mr. B. R. Adityan was a newspaper publisher who founded the popular evening Tamil Daily “Malai Murasu” and other magazines. He was the President of The Gandhinagar Club Adyar for 40 years and steered it from a 3court tennis club to a multi sports facility club today. Because of his services the club survived the earlier difficult times.
Mr. Adityan also retrieved majority shares of the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank to the Nadar Community and restored ownership of the bank back to the community. He always supported the cause of the Tamil people, Tamil Language and Tamil Nadu through his newspapers and magazines.
