Top players from various countries sweat it out to enter main draw and 10 players from India reached next round

Tennis enthusiasts of Bhopal have witnessed high level of Tennis in the Men’s ITF Qualifying Round at the Arera Club, Bhopal.

32 players including 7 foreign players from Netherlands, Russia, USA, Great Britain, and Italy played, out of which 16 players have reached the next round of qualifying draw which will be held tomorrow (24/11/2025). Eight players out of thirty two will qualify for main round starting from 25th November.

The qualifying round of this prestigious tournament was inaugurated by the Shri Rakesh Gupta, Director, Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare alongwith Shri Aslam Sher Khan, Former Olympian Hockey Player and Ms. Varsha Varman, International Sport Shooter on 23rd November.

The results of today’s matches are as follows:

  1. Sarthak Suden (Ind) defeated Sehaj Singh Pawar (Ind) – 7-5, 6-4.
  2. Freek Van Denselaar (Ned) defeated Priyanshu Choudhary (Ind) in a nail biting thrilling match – 2-6, 6-3, and 10-8.
  3. Tarun Kerra (Ind) defeated Shourya Manik (Ind) – 6-1, 6-1.
  4. German Mingaleev defeated Ying Hou (GBR) – 7-5, 6-2.
  5. Yash Yadav (Ind) defeated Anirudh Rao (USA) – 6-3, 6-2.
  6. Dheeraj Kodancha Srinivasan (Ind) defeated Deep Munim (Ind) – 7-6, 7-5.
  7. Aryan Lakshmanan (Ind) defeated Sandesh Dattatray Kurale (Ind) – 6-2, 6-2.
  8. Prasad Ingale (Ind) defeated Kiruthik Kalyaan Annur Senthil Kumar (Ind) – 4-6, 6-2, and 10-8.
  9. Pietro Mugelli (Ita) defeated Rudra Batham (Ind) – 6-0, 6-3.
  10. Arjun Rathi (Ind) defeated Varun Dhandhukia (Ind) – 6-4, 7-6 (6).
  11. Suraj R Prabodh (Ind) defeated Jay Singh (Aus) – 6-0, 6-1.
  12. Atharva Sharma (Ind) defeated Asim Mohammad (Ind) – 6-2, 6-2.
  13. Makar Krivoshchekov defeated Paritosh Pawar (Ind) – 6-3, 6-2.
  14. Anup Bangargi (Ind) defeated Rishabhdev Rajshekar Ranan (Ind) – 6-3, 6-3.

Till the news was printed, two matches were not concluded and were still going on under floodlights.

Looking at the level of competition, the main round promises to showcase fierce tennis for the tennis enthusiasts. On 24th November the matches will start from 09:30 am at Arera Club.
