Indian tennis player Prarthana Thombare claimed her first Doubles Title of 2025, partnering with Netherlands’ Arianne Hartono to win the Doubles championship at the ITF W100 Evansville.
The second-seeded Indo-Dutch pair dominated the final against Akli and Osuigwe, securing a straight-sets victory 6-3, 6-3. Their path to the title included a solid semifinal win over third seeds Kayla Cross and Alana Smith 6-4, 7-5, demonstrating their ability to handle higher-pressure matches against seeded opposition.
Throughout the tournament, Thombare and Hartono showed consistent form, recording wins over Ye Xin Ma/Himeno Sakatsume (6-4, 6-0) in the first round and surviving a tight three-set quarterfinal against Fiona Crawley and Sara Daavettila (6-1, 2-6, [10-6]).
This marks the fourth doubles final appearance of 2025 for the Thombare-Hartono partnership, with their previous three finals coming up short. The breakthrough title at the W100 level represents a significant achievement for Thombare, providing valuable WTA ranking points and momentum as she continues her professional campaign.
