Balaji/Reyes-Varela Bow Out in Wimbledon Round 2 to 4th Seeds

After an impressive straight-sets win in the opening round over Americans Aleksandar Kovacevic and Learner Tien, the Indo-Mexican duo of Sriram Balaji and Miguel Ángel Reyes-Varela put up a spirited fight in the second round of Wimbledon 2025.

Facing the experienced 4th seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, Balaji and Reyes-Varela matched their higher-ranked opponents game for game, staying level until 4-4 in both sets. However, the Spanish-Argentine pair capitalized on late opportunities in each set to edge ahead, sealing a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

Despite the loss, the match showcased Balaji and Reyes-Varela’s growing chemistry and ability to challenge top-tier teams on one of tennis’s grandest stages. Their campaign ends in Round 2, but not without leaving a mark at SW19.
