Balaji/Reyes-Varela Cruise into Wimbledon Round 2

India’s Sriram Balaji and Mexico’s Miguel Ángel Reyes-Varela advanced to the second round of the Wimbledon men’s doubles with a confident 6-4, 6-4 win over the American duo Aleksandar Kovacevic and Learner Tien.

This victory marks Balaji’s first win at Wimbledon since 2018, when he partnered with Vishnu Vardhan. The Indo-Mexican pair were solid on serve and converted crucial opportunities to seal the match in straight sets.

Their next challenge will be a tough one, as they face the 4th-seeded team of Marcel Granollers (Spain) and Horacio Zeballos (Argentina) in the Round of 32.

With this win, Balaji joins fellow Indians Yuki Bhambri and Rithvik Bollipalli in the second round, making it a promising campaign for India in the doubles draw at SW19.
