Paris, May 29 — Promising Indian tennis talent Manas Dhamne began his Roland-Garros Juniors 2025 campaign with an impressive win, defeating Romanian junior standout Alejandro Mateo Berge Nourescu in the first round of qualifying.
The 17-year-old Dhamne, currently ranked ATP World No. 716 and unranked in the junior circuit, showcased his skills with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory over Nourescu, who holds a junior world ranking of No. 75 and ATP ranking of 1613.

With one more win needed to reach the Roland-Garros Juniors main draw, Dhamne now prepares to face another 17-year-old, Damir Zhalgasbay of Kazakhstan. Zhalgasbay, who is unranked on the ATP Tour but holds a junior ranking of No. 62, will pose a fresh challenge for the young Indian as the competition intensifies.
