Yuki Bhambri/Alexei Popyrin Storm Into ATP 500 Dubai Semifinals

Yuki Bhambri and Alexei Popyrin continued their strong run at the ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, securing a thrilling comeback win in the quarterfinals. The Indo-Australian duo defeated the World No. 3 seeded pair with a hard-fought 5-7, 7-6(5), 10-5 victory to book their place in the semifinals.

This result marks a back-to-back semifinal appearance for Bhambri in Dubai, having reached the same stage last year alongside Robin Haase. The win also serves as sweet revenge for Bhambri, who, alongside Ivan Dodig, had lost to the British pair of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool just last week.

This is Bhambri’s third career semifinal at the ATP 500 level, underlining his growing consistency on the doubles circuit. His ability to adapt to new partnerships continues to pay dividends, and alongside Popyrin, he has looked sharp in Dubai.

With momentum on their side, Bhambri and Popyrin will now take on the experienced pair of Jamie Murray (GBR) and John Peers (AUS) in the semifinals. A win here would take Bhambri one step closer to his maiden ATP 500 title, further cementing his rise in the doubles circuit.
