Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden have made a strong start at the Vienna Open, securing their place in the quarterfinals after a hard-fought victory over Alexander Zverev and Robin Haase. Despite a sluggish start, the Indo-Australian pair turned things around and emerged victorious in their opening match. They eventually won 2-6 7-5 10-5.
Next up, they face the formidable team of Brit Neal Skupski and New Zealander Michael Venus in the quarterfinals. Fans can expect a thrilling contest as Bopanna and Ebden aim to continue their impressive run in Vienna.
Speaking on the win, Bopanna said – “We started slow. We were lucky to get that break in the 2nd set. We used the momentum in the super tiebreak. When it goes to the super tiebreak, it goes so quick. But having played together for such a long time helped us.”
