New Delhi, 16th August 2024: The Selection Committee of the All India
Tennis Association (AITA) held a virtual meeting today, chaired by Shri Nandan Bal, to
finalize the team for the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Sweden. The tie will take place
in Stockholm on indoor hard courts on the 14th and 15th of September, 2024.
The committee, after thorough deliberations based on players’ rankings, availability,
recent performances, and current form, has selected the following players to represent
India:
1) Sumit Nagal
2) Ramkumar Ramanathan
3) Sriram Balaji
4) Niki Poonacha
5) Siddharth Vishwakarma
Reserve – Aryan Shah
Captain – Rohit Rajpal
Coach – Ashutosh Singh
Physios – Yash Pandey and Debashish Das
While Siddharth Vishwakarma and Aryan Shah have been handed call ups for the first time, Mukund Sasikumar and Yuki Bhambri will be missing the tie for unknown reasons.
