The Indian government’s Budget 2024 has brought mixed feelings for the sporting community. With a total allocation of Rs 3442.32 crores, there’s a slight increase of Rs 45.36 crores compared to the previous year. The spotlight, however, shines brightly on the Khelo India program, which has been earmarked a significant Rs 900 crores. This leaves the remaining Rs 2542.32 crores to be divided among various sports federations, including tennis.
For the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and tennis enthusiasts across the country, this budget brings forth a crucial question: How much of this pie will tennis receive? Unfortunately, the budget doesn’t provide a clear answer. The specific allocations for individual sports federations remain undisclosed, leaving the tennis community in a state of uncertainty.
