Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji are set to team up for two ATP Tour events in Hamburg and Umag on clay as part of their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics at Roland Garros. They, along with their coach M Balachandran and physio Rebecca Van Orshagen, have received support from the Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) of the Union Sports Ministry for these two tournaments.
The Hamburg event, an ATP 500 tournament, will take place from July 15, following Wimbledon. The ATP 250 event in Umag, Croatia, is scheduled for July 21. The Olympic tennis competition is set for July 27 to August 4, featuring a 64-player singles draw and a 32-team doubles draw.
India will not have a mixed doubles entry in tennis as no female player has qualified. Sania Mirza had represented India in the last four Olympics, partnering with various players in doubles and mixed doubles events.
