Sumit Nagal Officially Confirms Paris Olympics Spot

Sumit Nagal’s stocks continue to rise as the 71st ranked Indian Tennis star officially sealed his slot at the Paris Olympics to be played from 26th July at the Roland Garros clay courts in Paris, France. This comes after Nagal’s historic triumph at the ATP 100 Heilbronn Challenger in Germany.

This will be Nagal’s 2nd Olympics appearance, with the first one coming at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he became the first Indian man since Leander Paes (Atlanta 1996) to win a round in the Men’s Singles at the Olympics. Nagal had beaten Denis Istomin in Round 1, before losing to 2nd seeded Daniil Medvedev. Nagal will aim to better his Tokyo performance in Paris.

Nagal has always maintained that the Olympics is one of the most important events for him, and one that is close to his heart. And with this one being on his favorite surface (clay), he will be pumped to put his best foot forward.
