Paris, France (May 26, 2024) – Indian Tennis sensation Sumit Nagal will take on World No.18 Karen Khachanov in a much anticipated 1st round clash at Roland Garros. 26 year old Nagal, who’s making his main draw debut in Paris, has his task cut out against the 6 foot 6 inches giant from Russia.
Roland Garros has been a happy hunting ground for the Russia, for he has made two quarter-final here, including in the last edition of the tournament. He also won the Silver Medal in singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Khachanov comes into this tournament in great form, having made the quarter-final at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, where he beat 4th seeded Daniil Medvedev before losing to eventual winner Stefanos Tsitsipas.
