Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar Wins ITF Junior Title in Australia; Beats Lleyton Hewitt’s Son Along The Way

Talented 16 year old Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar secured the boys’ singles title at the J100 ITF Juniors tennis event in Canberra, Australia on clay. In an exciting final match, top seeded Rethin faced off against 2nd seeded Harry Pugh from New Zealand, eventually triumphing with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Rethin, who was ranked 118th in the world junior rankings prior to this event, will move close to the Top 100. He displayed determination and talent, defeating Cruz Hewitt, the son of former Wimbledon and US Open champion Lleyton Hewitt, in the semifinals.

This victory marked Rethin’s first singles title of the season and his first at the Grade 3 (J100) level. Prior to this achievement, he had already showcased his skills by winning the doubles title in Mornington, Australia, just a week earlier.

Rethin’s success highlights his potential as a rising star in the world of junior tennis. With his dedication and talent, he is poised to make a significant impact in the sport in India in the years to come.
