The Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is a tool that U. S. College coaches use to recruit and give out scholarships to tennis players across the globe. DreamBig Challenger Series organizer, Tushar Liberhan, a former top Indian Junior tennis player himself, says that we have had an overwhelming response from the Indian junior tennis players in terms of the participation. “The Tournament series aims to help Indian junior tennis players get rated on the UTR and gives them an opportunity to boost their ratings, without the hassle and costs of travelling to international locations. The round- robin format of the tournament guarantees each player with at least 3 matches. Top performers from the Boys and Girls Divisions get a direct entry to the DreamBig Silver Series Tennis Camp where U.S. College coaches come to scout players from India. Since the UTR is level based competition, it helps players have more competitive matches. Rian Pandole, from Mumbai, is the highest UTR rated Indian Tennis player in U.S. College Tennis with a UTR of 13.17, is currently playing at Columbia University in New York.”
