URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR PUNE BASED STRINGER DNYANES URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR PUNE BASED STRINGER DNYANESHWAR STRUGGLING WITH COVID AND RELATED COMPLICATIONS

Message from his son -

"Good afternoon Indian tennis family, reaching out for a help. this is regarding Dnyaneshwar Awagadhe. He has been stringing tennis rackets in Pune at the Deccan Gymkhana for 30 years and at many challengers, futures and even the official stringers for the ATP 250 event in Pune.

Dnyaneshwars both kidneys have failed and requires dialysis 2 days a week. This has become a costly and complicated affair as he was diagnosed with Covid-19 and now needs ICU and dialysis. Some tennis community members have helped him get a bed but we are now looking at paying a bill in the range of 10-25k a day over the next 10 days. Needless to say, tennis stringers have no income these days and it would be a mighty help to support them through a torrid period.

The Awagadhes come from a family of racket stringers and have been part of the Indian tennis family through their stringing for nearly 40+ years now.

If you can help us in any way, would be highly grateful"

His Gpay no. is 9767404303. Please DM for bank account details

Appreciation post for the wonderful ILCEF team fro Appreciation post for the wonderful ILCEF team from Riga.

A team made up of Latvian residents w/ Indian roots, the team did everything possible (w/ COVID access restrictions in place) to show their support for the Indian (and also Latvian) team. From providing a warm welcome to the team on arrival, to doing their best to help team with Indian food arrangement, to triggering the Indian Ambassador / Embassy involvement, to galvanising the Indian origin community and to even having a Photography presence at the venue to capture this historic occasion.

A huge gratitude to the team and hopefully we can see similar support at the WTA Baltic Open (Jurmala) in the future!

The Aussie of Indian descent had been working on transitioning her game from defense to offense for the past year and has been putting it to great use this year. During the transition phase, her ranking slipped from top 100 to top 170.

This is Astra's 7th WTA main draw win this year and already has a WTA Doubles title in her kitty.

Astra will face Ons Jabeur next.

In her own words to the tourney "I'm just going to show up every point, I'm going to hit as hard as I can... It would be easier to almost find an excuse to not push myself that extra bit... That was a big learning experience for me, getting out professionally and finding that own fire and support within myself... It's just yourself out there. How do you want to talk to yourself? How do you want to push yourself? That's been a really good growth experience." ⭐️
