Manas Dhamne Battles Through Marathon Clash to Register Career best win on clay

Eighteen-year-old Indian tennis prospect Manas Dhamne continues his steady rise on the ATP Challenger circuit after producing a gritty comeback victory in Italy, defeating Portugal’s Frederico Ferreira Silva in a marathon Round of 32 encounter.

The young Indian, currently ranked ATP 391, overcame the experienced World No. 237 with a fighting 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win in a contest that lasted 2 hours and 51 minutes. The victory marks the best clay-court win of Dhamne’s career by opponent ranking and the third-best overall win of his professional journey so far.

After dropping the opening set, Dhamne showed remarkable composure and physical endurance to turn the match around. He held his nerve during crucial moments in the second set before taking control in the decider with aggressive baseline play and improved serving.

One of the standout aspects of his performance was his serve under pressure. Dhamne fired 7 aces during the match, including 2 crucial aces while serving for the match — a sign of growing confidence and maturity in high-pressure situations.

The result adds another significant milestone to the teenager’s rapidly developing career as he continues gaining momentum on the Challenger circuit against higher-ranked opponents.

Dhamne will next face the winner of the clash between Tunisia’s Moez Echargui (ATP 139) and Switzerland’s Remy Bertola (ATP 208) as he looks to continue his impressive run in Italy.
