Vaishnavi Adkar’s Historic Rise

Adkar’s inclusion follows a career-defining performance at the ITF W100 Bengaluru, where she reached the final as a wildcard. This achievement marks the first time an Indian woman has reached a W100 (or higher) final since Sania Mirza in 2009. Her ranking subsequently rocketed from 690 to 468, making her the current India No. 2 behind Sahaja Yamalapalli (World No. 393).

Strategic Highlights

While the team ultimately lost their November Play-offs against Slovenia and the Netherlands, this year’s tournament offers a fresh chance to climb back into the qualifiers.
