India is set to host the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group I event at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune, in the week commencing April 7, 2025. The tournament will feature six competing nations: Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, India, Korea Republic, New Zealand, and Thailand.
With only two direct spots available for the Play-offs, the competition is expected to be intense. However, an extra qualification spot will also be awarded to one team from any of the three Group I events worldwide (Europe/Africa, Americas, or Asia/Oceania). The criteria for selecting this additional team are yet to be determined.
As hosts, India will look to capitalize on home advantage and push for a place in the Play-offs. Tennis fans in Pune can expect high-stakes action as the region’s top teams battle for qualification.
