Indian Billie Jean King Cup player Shrivalli Bhamidipaty shared her reflections following a second-round defeat at the International Tennis Federation W75 tournament in Pune, held at the Deccan Gymkhana. Bhamidipaty fell to Hungary’s Panna Udvardy, ranked 146th in the world, with a scoreline of 6-7, 2-6.
“Hi, I’m Shrivalli Bhamidipati,” the Hyderabad native began. “I just played my second round here at the ITF W75 in Pune against Panna Udvardy, a Hungarian player, and I think it was a great experience.”
Despite the loss, Bhamidipaty emphasized the valuable lessons learned from the match. “Though I lost the match, I gave a tough fight to her, and I got to learn a lot from this match. I felt that a little more experience, and I could do much better in matches like this because I think she was much more mature than me in points which was necessary during the first set.”
Bhamidipaty acknowledged the pivotal nature of the first set. “Maybe if I pulled the first set, things would have been different,” she commented. While disappointed with the result, Bhamidipaty’s focus remains on the learning experience and applying it to future competitions.
