Basavareddy (USA) Claims Maiden Pro Title, enters ATP Top-200

Rising American tennis star Nishesh Basavareddy has secured his first professional title with a dominant victory at the ATP Tiburon Challenger. The 19-year-old, currently ranked World No. 192, defeated top-ranked college player Eliot Spizzirri 6-1, 6-1 in the final held at the Tiburon Peninsula Club.  

This victory marks a significant milestone in Basavareddy’s burgeoning career. He has been steadily climbing the ranks, reaching the final of the LTP Charleston Challenger last week and the semifinals of the Columbus Challenger the week before. His impressive performance at Tiburon solidifies his position as a force to be reckoned with in the tennis world.

Coached by Bryan Smith from Carmel, Indiana, Basavareddy is also the recipient of the prestigious 2024 Raghav Ram Award from the Rajeev Ram Foundation. This latest triumph at Tiburon propels him into the ATP Top 200, setting the stage for a promising future in professional tennis.
