Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal delivered an incredible performance at the Heilbronn Challenger in Germany, a prestigious 100-point ATP Challenger event held on red clay courts. Nagal clinched his 6th ATP Challenger title, and his 2nd of 2024, with this victory marking his 4th career title on clay. This win significantly more or less confirms his spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics, with the official list to be released on 10th June, 2024.
In a thrilling final, Nagal triumphed over Swiss player Alexander Ritschard in a hard-fought three-set match. Below are Nagal’s results from the tournament:
Speaking after the match, Nagal said – “Congrats to Alex for playing a high level, especially in the 2nd and 3rd sets. If I play Tennis like I played today, I can be a little proud. Thanks to the crowd for coming out and supporting us, it’s always nice to have a full stadium. Ranking is the 2nd goal for me, 1st is to play good tennis and keep improving. If I do that, the ranking and points will come.”
